Breast Augmentation Surgery
During your visit regarding breast augmentation (“augmentation mammaplasty”) with Dr. Zwiebel, he will use the AXIS Three Breast Simulator – a three-dimensional computerized imaging system that displays side-by-side photos of you trying out various size implants. At this time, Dr. Zwiebel will discuss the type of breast augmentation results to anticipate. We will also provide Curves Connection, an online program that allows you to view your images from the AXIS Three Breast Simulator at home.
In addition to the computerized imaging, our Denver breast augmentation doctor will provide you with “tester implants” to take home and try out in order to decide if breast augmentation is right for you. However, due to a 10 percent discrepancy when using the “testers,” new technologies such as the AXIS Three Breast Simulator is much more patient-friendly. You will be under intravenous sedation during your procedure. Dr. Zwiebel will begin your breast augmentation procedure (“augmentation mammaplasty”) by creating a small incision in the fold, or crease, of the breast. He will then place either saline or silicone gel filled breast implants above or below the pectoral muscles. After your procedure, an anesthesia pump will drip local anesthetic into the treatment area for four to five days to numb the surgical site, which will reduce pain and the need for painkillers. Our Denver and Colorado Springs breast augmentation patients are much more comfortable with this device and experience easier recovery. Post-surgical breast sensitivity, soreness, swelling, and possible temporary decreased sensation may be present; this should subside as your breasts heal within three to six weeks.
Breast lift surgery (“mastopexy”) is also available at the Zwiebel Center for Plastic Surgery and Skin Care, which is offered to prospective Littleton, Colorado Springs, and Denver breast augmentation patients. Should he recommend combining these procedures, Dr. Zwiebel will elevate sagging breasts to a more a youthful position on the chest wall.
