Cosmetic Facelift Surgery

During an educational consultation, Dr. Zwiebel will help to determine what is most appropriate for your individual needs. It is important that you learn the essential step-by-step details before making a final decision. A facelift (“rhytidectomy”) can provide long-lasting results; it will “set the clock back” approximately 10 years and restore a more refreshed, brighter, and younger-looking facial appearance. Performed by our Denver facelift doctor, this procedure can provide a more rested and youthful contour to the face and neck.

Depending on your degree of facial aging and skin laxity, Denver plastic surgeon Dr. Zwiebel may recommend one of two types of facelifts: a “full facelift” or a “mini facelift,” which is commonly referred to as a “short scar facelift” at our practice. He will focus on the entire face during a standard procedure should your signs of aging predominantly appear in the lower half of your face. A mini facelift, on the other hand, is ideal for minimal aging and the mid and upper portion of the face.

Littleton, Denver, and Colorado Springs facelift patients who undergo the standard procedure are put under intravenous sedation. Following the facelift procedure, which is performed on an outpatient basis, your head and neck will be wrapped in dressings and typically removed the following day. Oral medication will help to alleviate discomfort, and sutures will be removed within seven to 14 days. The final results will appear in approximately four to six weeks, and continued improvement will be noticeable for several months.
